The Ducal Palace
this is one of the most important historical Palaces in Genoa; it used to be the residence of the Genoese dogi (leaders). Today it is one of the most important municipal museums. Important art exhibitions are often displayed on the upper floors. They are also used as meetings and venues. In its courtyards and inside porticos there are shops and restaurants. La Lanterna
for over 5 centuries the light on top La Lanterna has shown the sailors the way to the Port of Genoa, while this slim tower has become the iconic symbol of Genoa over the centuries. On Saturdays and Sundays La Lanterna is open to visitors, as it houses the museum of “genoesity’(=the spirit of Genoa’s history and culture).
